Red River Bayou
A transition from Splashin' Place will be Red River Bayou, located near the Fort Wilderness entrance of River Country. It is themed to the swampy rivers of Louisiana and other territories in the southern US, that Hank Ryder and Brer Otter traveled on to get back to Georgia. In the land are two attractions, one being a slide, and the other a long walking trail up and down the terrain and into treehouses. There is a large tree called Ol' Bark, which houses both the slide and the walking trail. Around the tree, are shady spots to lounge and a sand-bottom pool for guests to enjoy.
Swamp Race
A dueling body slide located at the top of Ol' Bark. Guests will climb up a spiral staircase, and continue to walk up the branches of the tree and to the man-made water ride. Sitting down in two options for the slides, guests can race each other down the tree and into the pool at the bottom.
Treehouse Trail
A walking trail through Ol' Bark, where guests can walk up to the top of the 50 foot tree and look out onto the park from above. On the way up, guests can interact with the tree by touching their MagicBands in specific areas.

The River Wild
Showing nightly is Running with the River, a projection show illuminating the canyon cliffs with the story of Little Squirt, a mischievous and playful river spirit. The spirit of river is our narrator as it takes us on a journey of music, lights, and incredible images (mainly using projection mapping), all centered around the wonders of the river.
Guests are seated on log benches in a semi-circle facing the cliff walls surrounded by trees. The song “Of Time and Rivers Flowing” starts to play. The lights fade and a giggle echoes through the area. A single jet of orange water bubbles up and the laughter grows louder.

Guests are seated on log benches in a semi-circle facing the cliff walls surrounded by trees. The song “Of Time and Rivers Flowing” starts to play. The lights fade and a giggle echoes through the area. A single jet of orange water bubbles up and the laughter grows louder.
Little Squirt: “Hi! Wow, so many humans here. Isn’t it great? I love humans. You always are so funny.” The water disappears, and the laughter seems to be coming from the back now.
Little Squirt: “Especially when I do this.” Suddenly the wave of water sprays the front row guests. As the guests likely exclaim in surprise, Little Squirt continues, once again, appearing in front of the guests.
Little Squirt, laughing: “Just like that. You are so much fun to be around, but I especially love your stories. You have so many of them!”
On the canyon wall, the river seems to flowing away from the audience, taking them with it as it continues up stream, as deer drink from the river, foxes play with their kits at the water's edge, bears fish mid stream, and birds float on the surface.
Little Squirt: “I’ve always been around, longer than anyone can remember, but the fun didn’t really start until you humans came along.” The water can be seen jumping around the audience, sometimes directly overhead, and the voice following it as it moves around. “Such fascinating beings that depend on me for their fortunes and survival.” Little Squirt laughs as it continues to jump.
The river flows and churns until it calms near the silhouettes of several cowboys by the campfire. The shadows are larger than life and the fire flickers and jumps. The low murmur of voices can be heard but not understood. One cowboy seems to be strumming a guitar.

Little Squirt: “There! Here are some of you humans now.” The orange jet of water returns to the front of the audience. “I can’t wait! They tell the best stories, especially about me. Those are the best.” The water jet grows taller and taller. “Here, let me show you.” The orange water jet is propelled into the air as the smoke from the campfire rises, over shadowing the people around the campfires. The smoke starts to form shapes into the next scene.
The sounds of "Just Around the River Bend" start to play and the scene shows Pocahontas stepping into the stream and into here canoe. The song plays showing the water propelling Pocahontas towards adventure. As she goes through the rapids, a wave of water sprays the guests again.

Little Squirt laughs as the scene draws to a close. "I always liked her. So ready to explore and never afraid to get wet."
The scene transforms to a keel boat and a scruffy man on board. It's Mike Fink having it out with Davy Crockett.

Little Squirt: "Oooh, now here's some one I love to play tricks on. Watch." The water shoots up into the air rocking the keel boat and causing Fink to fall into the water. Little Squirt laughs as we watch Day Crockett sail off.
The music turns foreboding and dark. Glowing red eyes dot the canyon walls forming into demon cattle. "Ghost Riders int he Sky" starts playing. Little Squirt seems to shrink in fear. The herd is followed by cattle drivers who seem to stare down at the audience in judgement.
As the image fades away, the sound of jazz flows over the audience and "Going Down the Bayou" causes the surrounding trees to illuminate with "fireflies". Little Squirt dances tot he music, occasionally jumping around the audience, laughing. The scene shows Louis, Naveen, and Tiana following Ray and his family through the bayou. The trees echo the patterns of the fireflies on the canyon wall, engulfing the audience in a spectacle of light.
but all is not well, as the fireflies light gives way to fire. Suddenly, the Firebird appears, scorching the landscape and "setting the trees on fire".
Little Squirt tries to jump away, but the Firebird always seems to be waiting. On the canyon walls, the animals from Bambi are seen running from the fire jumping into the river to escape the blaze. The music crescendos and the fire flares brightly one last time. From the ensuing darkness, we can see the animals huddled in the middle of the river, but there's no sign of Little Squirt. Slowly the song "In the Middle of the River" starts to play. The water begins to bubble up and a tiny stream of orange water tries to jump up. The river water continues to engulf the scene. As the water reaches the trees, their burnt shells fall away and start growing new leaves. As the scene grows greener, Squirt grows bigger in turn, until it is back to full size. The scene rapid goes through a montage of Disney characters surrounded by water (Rapunzel on the boat, Alice in the bottle floating on the water, the Up house by the waterfall, etc.) as a reprise of "Of Time and Rivers Flowing" starts to play.
The images fade to smoke and the campfire cowboys return.
Little Squirt: "Some of those can be pretty scary, but I had so much fun. I hope to hear more of your stories soon. So go out and write your own stories and come back and tell them to me some time. I'll always be hear, ready to listen. Just don't be surprised if you get a little wet!" One last wave of water sprays the guests, as Little Squirt's laughter fades away with one last message on the canyon wall as the guests start to exit.
